Review of Alphaville (1965) by Jake W — 28 Jul 2009
This could very well be the most innovative and original sci-fi film ever made. It combines noir, sci-fi, romance, and suspense and melds very well together. Awesome story of a space-traveling private-eye on a mission to take down the computer known as Alpha 60, which controls the techno-totalitarian society of Alphaville.
Even though it is dated, it still has quite a bit of relevance today. This has influenced many modern sci-fi flicks such as Blade Runner, The Terminator, and The Matrix and you can see its resemblance in them.
One of Godard's best...check this one out.
