Review of Alphaville (1965) by Walter C — 04 Oct 2009
A spy from the outlands is sent to Alphaville to take out Omega 60, the computer that is running everything. In Alphaville artists and poets are executed if they don't manage to kill themselves in the suicide district and love has been suppressed.
This is one of those '1984' inspired sci-fi universes where everything is run by a supercomputer instead of Big Brother. It's an odd film to watch but, I think would be more enjoyable going through it a second time.
Oh, if you are looking for special effects or innovative sets, look elsewhere because this sci-fi universe looks like the time it was shot in and there are no special effects shots.
