Review of Alpha Dog (2006) by Marvy M — 30 Jan 2011
I soft spot for white people acting all "gangsta" ... just watch Havoc with Anne Hathaway ... this, like all movies are based on true events ... in this case, a drug dealer who was on FBI's most wanted .
... Emile Hirsch plays the drug dealer. Johnny Truelove that kidnaps the brother of Ben Foster's character because he owes him money ... while in captivity of Frankie (Justin Timberlake) and his friends, the admiration for the hostage grew into friendship and starts partying with the young lad .
.. JT's acting is slowly maturing at this point of his acting career, still, not a believable "badass" ... Ben Foster going all kung fu Nazi in the party scene was insane, this boy shelled out of child-actor .
.. and what is up with that thing growing out of Bruce Willis' head, whom plays Johnny's father ... other than that, good casting of up and coming young actors, such as Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Wilde and Dominique Swan .
.. only if we can turn FBI's most wanted list into movies, maybe they would be caught sooner.
