Review of Along Came Polly (2004) by Luca V — 08 Mar 2009
This could have been a typical Facebook story. A guy meets his ex school mate and has dates with her hiding some little important things of his life. Till his sins will find him out. It is the comedy of opposites.
After having married the perfect compatible woman, an insurer who plans everything in his life is cheated by this woman during their honeymoon. When in NY he asks some advice to his friend, a fat Cyrano de Bergerac (the universal Seymour Hoffman) who had been a movie star when he was a teen-ager.
Then he crosses Aniston (Polly) and she is a scatter-brained waitress who has traveled the world. Usual toilet gags (more or less it happens the same in All About Mary, Ben Stiller - first date etc.).
I like when Stiller ask the best friend of Polly to teach him Latin-American dancing. Then the rejecting wife comes back . crisis . epilogue . Seymour Hoffman replaces Stiller as an insurer . success .
closing credits.
