Review of Along Came Polly (2004) by Adrian Z — 23 Jan 2010
3 out of 5 - Pretty much Ben Stiller's formula goes into auto-pilot in this movie. Stillers ticks off all the usual boxes: flooding a toilet, suffering mishaps in slow-motion, making a happy fool of oneself in slow motion, etc.
He is still funny in this movie, in fact, there were plenty of laugh out moments. Unfortunately, Jennifer Aniston's free spirited character was very annoying, and the relationship risk averse Stiller and her formed literally the day after his marriage ended did not seem credible at all.
Hoffman was also annoyingly unfunny in his supporting role. Not so Alec Baldwin, who was funny as Stiller's boss.
