Review of Along Came a Spider (2001) by Jackson C — 04 Jan 2013
Along Came a Spider is living proof that sometimes good books simply have no place as a movie. James Patterson is a master at creating suspense using the pacing of his words and short chapters. Along Came a Spider loses this key element of all Patterson books, and depends itself on a story that simply have way too many plot holes and questionable decisions by the character.
What is worse is casting Morgan Freeman as Alex Cross, as he simply does not have the same persona as the character in the books and does not fit the role as described in the books whatsoever. Monica Potter gives an honest performance in the film, but her characters detaches audience emotionally towards the end, causing me to dislike all the characters in the film.
