Review of Alone in Berlin (2016) by Frances H — 19 Feb 2018
A poignant movie for our time, about two people's defiance against a morally evil regime. It is especially relevant now when the United States is drifting towards the same kind of branding what was evil in the past as acceptable now, and calling anyone who disagrees with them as being unAmerican and treasonous for just not standing and applauding a man who admires dictators.
No resistance is ever futile in such a situation, because even in death you die on the high moral ground. Beautifully acted by Emma Thompson., and Daniel Bruhl Brendan Gleeson.
