Review of Aloha (2015) by Brad S — 07 May 2016

I had read the poor reviews and I hoped they might be wrong, but they weren't. The movie just doesn't work, Cameron Crowe lost his was on this one, and it's a shame. It's got a great cast and gorgeous setting, seems such a waste.

The story just didn't work for me, and the tone of the film is a little all over. Even the cast of reliable performances weren't great, though I did like John Krasinski in it. Also, there was a scene near the end that I thought was perfectly executed reminding that Crowe is a talented director, hopefully this was just a brief misstep.
