Review of Aloha (2015) by Jason J — 25 Aug 2015
Aloha is one of those romantic drama films that is going to be predictable on the plot but does have some sentimental value in there somewhere as well. A military contractor Brian (Bradley Cooper) returns home to Hawaii for the launch of a new satellite funded by a rich corporation.
Brian soon reconnects with his ex love interest Tracy (Rachel McAdams) who is now married to Woody (John Krasinski) as they are struggling the lack of communication in their marriage. At the same time, Brian is accompanied by Captain Allison (Emma Stone) who can help aid him in trying to get the Hawaiian tribe blessing on the launch of the satellite.
It is a plot that is easy to see forecoming. Director Cameron Crowe still maintains the film by having a charming sentimental theme about resolving one past relationship before opening a new one and doing what is right for the peoples belief.
Sadly, the script does have some faults and is not Cameron Crowes finest. Aloha does have a talented cast and it is a fair film that will soon be forgettable.
