Review of Almost Heroes (1998) by Josiah P — 09 Aug 2007
This was Farley's last movie before his untimely death and is often missed by movie watchers. Though it does not have the same production values or a heart warming story as Chris Farley's past films, it is arguably his best comedy.
Mathew Perry and Chris Farley make a terrific comedic duo (just as good, if not better than, Farley and Spade) as this movie bites early American 18th century history's ear off with its hilarious side-characters and memorial lines.
Chris Farley and Mathew Perry may be the main characters, but unlike many comedies, every character in this story is used for the sole purpose of paddling the story down a river of laughter and amusement.
This movie may have lacked a large budget and failed to garner a lot of attention, but it has a solid cast of characters and an interesting plot that should not missed.
