Review of Almost Famous (2000) by Erik G — 24 Jan 2012
One 15-year-old kid was going to be famous...I mean, 'Almost Famous'. William Miller, a teenage reporter of the underground Creem publication, is hired by the editors of Rolling Stone magazine.
So when Stillwater is on their 1973 tour, Will is assigned to interview them, through pieces of paper that would be his Rolling Stone article. It's a great coming-of-age chance in a lifetime when our lead character has to get away from life where he lived with an overprotective mother and finally accomplished his dreams.
Of course, Will did find a lot more in life than just rock music. "Almost Famous" is directed by Cameron Crowe; stars Patrick Fugit, Billy Crudup, Frances McDormand; and Kate Hudson; and features a great soundtrack of artists such as Elton John and The Who.
What can I say about 'Almost Famous'? It's a great film. :).
