I dare say that this was a VALIANT effort on the parts of everyone involved. The film making is obviously compitant and actually comes off as trying to do something different, yet it doesn't really work due to how much it resembles Jaws.

You get to see from the Alligators perspective, the music playing when it attacks is very simple and plays at the same pace as the Jaws theme, the whole idea of nobody believing the one cop that actually has the right idea.

Aside from this, though, I was impressed with how well everything else was. Rovert Forster was as good as ever, actually straying away from the badass cop archetype we see so often. Some of the funnies parts are when people comment on how he's balding and it actually makes him endearing when he comes off as being upset by it.

The alligator itself was fucking cool too. And it actually ate a small child! Props to this movie for actually being brave enough to do that! It's interesting that, at the end, the gator isn't even really the bad guy anymore, it's almost a bit of an anti-hero; it attacks the rich and conspiring rich people that created it in the first place.
