Every franchise is told to be worse after the first one, that is what people are always saying. It seems like a habit that everyone cannot get rid of. But come on, what do you expect from a Young Adult-based movie? Society criticism? Gender equality? No.

We just want a one that can make us feel enjoyable and want to scream. And these are what included in The Divergent Series. If you want something deep, go to see different genre's movies. Do not force yourself to sound like a critic here.
