Review of Allegiant (2016) by Stephen P — 23 Jun 2016

This third entry in the series, based on the final book, is starting to show the franchise's weakness as they are running out of ideas to present. I like the idea of a world outside the other world, but this movie is unintentionally funny, with sub-par effects and stale acting. Only Jeff Daniels seems to be having fun with his role. Even Shailene Woodley looks like she doesn't want to be there. Everyone seems bored here and just going through the motions. If it wasn't for the final 20 minutes, this movie would have been a dud. The bad news is that there is one more movie since these days, they can't just make the final book into one movie. Hopefully the final movie ends on a better note.
