Review of All the President's Men (1976) by Robert B — 02 Nov 2008
Released only 3 years after the Watergate case, and 2 years after the Nixon resignation. But the timliness of the movie fits this well. This does have the feel of more of a documentary then a film about the actual events.
Redford and Hoffman are both strong in their roles of the reporters after the story that would ultimately bring down the President. You can feel how doggedly determined they are to their roles and to their story, it just feels so lived in.
Knowing the ending of the story doesn't detract from the stories drama, as it grips throughout.
