Review of All the President's Men (1976) by Camden N — 02 Jun 2009
I don't really have anything negative to say about this film, except that the ending was a tad weak. Everyone was perfectly cast, the script was about as good as it could've been, Alan Pakula's direction was pretty spot on, and Gordon Willis does his usual dark photography shtick.
Best scene: the first meeting with Deep Throat. At first the viewer sees nothing, but then Deep Throat flicks his lighter to reveal his whereabouts in the underground garage. It's images like that that make cinema such a great art form!
