Review of All the King's Men (2006) by Cathrin F — 01 May 2008
Good plot but not the best of screenplays. The movie lacks intensity at any point - just flows on like a soap opera with a political plot. There are so many loose ends in the movie that the I was left wondering about why a few things happened.
Sean Penn puts up a good performance. Jude Law was OK. The rest don't have much of a role and in general a few great actors were terribly wasted.
If this movie was made with a lower calibre star cast, I would have called it good - but with this great cast, it was just mediocre.
