Review of All That Heaven Allows (1955) by Kyle E — 07 Dec 2007
This is a truly beautiful film, shot so gorgeously with Sirk's famed use of colour. Wyman and Hudson are wonderful and really give the film an emotional anchor, making scenes like the arrival of the television heartbreaking.
Some of the themes are given more weight in Todd Haynes' remake 'Far From Heaven', but the simplicity of this film is half its charm.
