Review of All That Heaven Allows (1955) by Adam H — 01 May 2008
This is a film that dispenses with trying to be 'clever' and connects you to the characters and the situations and asks you to be honest like the film tries to be, asks you to commit to a feeling without the light relief of a punch line and without sentimentality. I thought rock hudson was excellent and the storyline was similar to Fassbinder's Fear Eats The Soul, might be good to compare the two if only to see how the plot of a film is only skin deep.
Hurry and see it before the remaining dvds are burnt up to make another round of "dude wheres my fucking car", wanking into an apple pie, jokiness.
Feel free to contradict, its all good.
