Review of All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) by Frank M — 03 Sep 2007
As films go this is poorly acted and badly shot (pardon the pun) But that in itself is ironically what makes it so good. The unusually long pauses in sound give it an amazing authenticity. I've often thought it is the story that is so good but the remake in the 70s wasn't a patch on the original.
