Review of All Is Lost (2013) by Ess Q — 12 Feb 2014
I read that this is the only movie in movie history with only one actor and one writer but 12 producers. It makes me never want to enter the water again, as if Cast Away and Pi didn't already do that.
Redford is 78 years old and in this movie he looks great, but the true depiction of a man's struggles with handling his own boat, heavy items, rigging etc gave it a feeling of realism.
It is an intellectual movie that makes you wonder at every turn what an unlucky man experiences. With the exception of a small letter read at the beginning and the word "f$&@" at one point out of frustration, there is literally no dialog.
This movie would have been great on an IMAX screen. Just because of the cinematography!
This movie was excellent!
