Review of All Is Lost (2013) by Daniel V — 25 Feb 2014
Being the only actor in a movie must be difficult, then again maybe it's the only time an actor can truly be free. Robert Redford doesn't take as many roles these days so you can imagine that if he does take one it something he can really sink his teeth into.
That's what this one feels like. RR saw a challenge, something he's never done before. With his natural charisma, he's at his best when he's trading lines with the best, so this was completely out of his wheelhouse.
As a whole, I wanted more from the movie part of it but from Redford, I got everything an actor of his caliber can give. Not really a movie that has re-watch value but a movie that deserves at least one look.
