Review of All Good Things (2010) by Ibrahim M — 02 Apr 2011
This is the story of yet another severely dysfunctional filthy rich family with skeletons in their closet. The first half of this film is fluidly paced, full of great moments and fascinating touches from Andrew Jarecki.
The second half clumsily dances between attempts at experimentation and a formulaic thriller. Ryan Gosling, Kirsten Dunst, Frank Langella and Philip Baker Hall all deserve recognition for excellent performances.
It's frustrating how quickly the film disintegrates, because it promises so much more than it amounts to.
