Review of All About Eve (1950) by Dan D — 27 Sep 2008
Yowza...I was only mildly interested in this film when I rented it. It's a complete success...the writing is probably as brilliant as anything I've encountered, including Wilder, and the ensemble of female performances is perfect.
The women in the film are mostly despicable, insecure, jealous, manipulative and conniving, which makes for a fascinating watch. P.S. if that's not enough, watch it for the bit part from a young and stunningly gorgeous Marylin Monroe.
