Review of All About Eve (1950) by Jim D — 13 Nov 2008
I really haven't watched enough of these classics. Bette Davis is just so goddamn cool - the three female leads are all great. This movie - and, I suspect, many from the period - is much more like a play in its dialogue, which doesn't always translate well to modern tastes but gives Davis so much to work with. Really good.
One note: I prefer my villains to be flatly villainous - I hate it when I have to feel bad for the conniving bitch. Stupid depth of character...
