Review of All About Eve (1950) by Emmanuel E — 28 Jan 2010
This film is a big WOW! Hollywood legend Bette Davis is in it, and what else can you ask for? The theme of this movie will remind us that popularity is not immortality. The story is timeless and original in its form as many subsequent films just duplicate it.
The premise focus on Margo, a popular theater actress who were introduced to Eve by the lovely Karen (wife of playwright Lloyd Richard). Eve, who is deceitful and envy of Margo wants to ruin Margo's career as an actress and play some dirty tricks so that she will be at the top to become a famous celebrity like her idol Margo.
The American Film Institute named Eve (played by actress Anne Baxter) as one of the best villain in the history of cinema. You'll enjoy this film from start to finish!
