Review of Aliens (1986) by Karl A — 18 May 2014
Probably the best mash up of sci-fi and horror ever made. Brave direction by James Cameron, as he did not try to imitate the genius of the first installment, but tried to create something different. Instead of following the haunted house concept of the first Alien he hung his story on a war movie frame creating a film that cannot be compared to the first but deserves to stand on its own.
James Cameron showed the world what a sequel could be. Fast paced editing keeps the intesity level high and an ending that is better than the original. Aliens is one of the all time great films.
