Review of Aliens (1986) by Charles-Philip B — 03 Apr 2015
Blockbuster tycoon James Cameron trades up the original's eerie demeanor for an action/adventure demolition course that, just as seamlessly, suits Sigourney Weaver's disgruntled Ripley. Although the cast is a bit more crowded this time around, Cameron gives each member something to do, whether or not it matters in the end.
The story's sentimentality occasionally pays off, but in a film that is most notable for it's art direction and merciless titular creatures, family dynamics tend to become second priority for the viewer.
