Review of Alien³ (1992) by Prince T — 13 Oct 2014
Re-Review: Age has done nothing to dampen what is IMO the greatest horror movie of all time. Why is it the greatest to me? It transcends its genre, it's iconic, it can be viewed as a sci fi movie and loses nothing, the Alien is a creation of nightmare fuel.
Weaver is impeccable in a time when a strong female heroine was unheard of, the cast is all admirable in their roles, the story is great, the style great. Ridley Scott decides to slowburn for what seems like an hour, with nothing happening but the first contact, after that everyone starts falling fast.
This movie will be forty years old in five years, FORTY, and it's still remarkably well done. This is ESSENTIAL viewing for a movie fan, you are only cheating yourself by not watching it, maybe you won't like it but it's impossible to deny how much this movie accomplished.
