Review of Alien Trespass (2009) by Jack G — 23 Mar 2009
Some big laughs here and there, but (and I saw the director give a Q&A so I can confirm) it's more homage than parody, and it tries to play it straight culling from Day the Earth Stood Still, War of the Worlds and It Came from Outer Space - which means that it already hasn't aged well as a new movie! I liked Dan Lauria a lot as the sheriff, and there's some fun visual effects like the alien creature thingie itself, but the parts are funnier and/or more successful than the whole.
It's enjoyable, but mostly for die-hard 50s sci-fi fans, made by them (the director is also an X-Files crew alum).
