Review of Alien Resurrection (1997) by Mark S — 23 Apr 2012

Sigourney Weaver seems to be having fun, as her New Ripley has enough similarities to the old one while still being a unique character with alien-like traits and a deja vu guiding her through the ordeal.

But she seems to be the only one having fun, as the rest of the acting is really cheesy and the dialog isn't too much better. The crew of mercenaries seems like crappier prototypes of the characters Joss Whedon would create for the later (and much better) "Firefly.

" There are some good scenes, such as the underwater sequence, but still only worth a watch for the hardcore "Alien" fan.
