Review of Alien Resurrection (1997) by Alex K — 13 May 2017

Weaver obviously relishes playing this feral, sarcastic new Ripley, and her pleasure is infectious, this time she can stretch the character to new limits now having her alien personality, she is again brilliant.

The rest of the cast are great and well known. This is the goriest Alien to date but is the less scariest but that's not a big problem because the production values are again fantastic and the special effects are even better then ever and the gore scenes are just plain sick yet satisfying.

What's also great about this film and is the best thing about it is the amazingly slick camera angles and super cool filming, you view the film in a deep wonder of how it's possible to film in so many different angles, it's very arty but suits the film.

The final third is probably the strangest, silliest of the films but you forget this is with it's amazing special effects and deeply stomach turning gory scenes. It's also very witty in a dark way which is the reason it's less scary but defiantly the goriest out the lot.

Normally fourth films turn out do be tiresome and boring but this up steps and plainly updates an odd fashioned formulaic science fiction horror, that is just great. Watch it and sit back for a ride but it's very gory and has some witty dark moments.
