Review of Alien Resurrection (1997) by Iwan C — 04 Nov 2017

Before I had the chance to see "Aliens" & "Alien 3", I had seen parts of "Alien Resurrection" & I initially thought it looked pretty cool (despite the mixed reaction). After seeing the successful "Aliens" & not-so-successful "Alien 3", I then watched "Alien Resurrection" to see if it was any better than the latter (considering my early reaction). Well, "Alien Resurrection" is marginally better than "Alien 3", but still inferior to "Alien" & "Aliens". As a matter of fact, the film tried to be like another "Aliens", but the character development reminded me of "Alien 3", so this film is like a mixture of "Aliens" & "Alien 3". Despite the subpar acting & story, I appreciated the settings & visual effects.

All in all, "Alien Resurrection" is a pretty okay film (just marginally better than "Alien 3").
