Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Jordan D — 17 Jul 2017
I'm a big believer in "You can't duplicate greatness", of course this series may be an exception with its original sequel Aliens. I still prefer the original. Now we're into the series for #6, and although it's better than some I have to say I'm extremely disappointed. A lot of people hated Prometheus but I loved its weirdness. Now they had a chance to really answer some questions, but they basically flew off in a totally different direction that screwed up the timeline of the entire series!?!? I know Michael Fassbender is a great actor, but we were looking for a center, the heroine is a whiney crybaby, and Fassbender cold and heartless (he is a robot in both roles after all). Danny McBride does a great job, but he isn't developed or used enough.
As I said, it isn't bad...it just isn't good. So why 3 stars? Hey, I'm just happy Ridley Scott made another Alien movie...he should have read the script better though!
