Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Dubeau — 03 Jun 2017
A very conventional alien movie. The film explains briefly what happen to Shaw, the engineer planet but...they all feel like shortcuts explanations. The rest can be seen a mile away, the villain robot, the alien killing everyone on ground and in space.
The FX are fine, the sound is not always good, the music is forgettable. The horror is just average and the level of stupidity of the crew is even more daunting (especially since the movie always try to say they have to protect the colonist, something they always fail to do).
They speak of protocols but implement almost none of them. Which makes this film story a real joke that is unbelievable, even more then Prometheus. I give it 30%, because I loved the first 20 minutes without any aliens.
