Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Marcus E — 19 May 2017
Good follow-up to Prometheus. Just like Prometheus, this movie is not really about all the blood, killing, & constant Alien action. It's exposing more & filling in the blanks of a backstory.
It's a little slow at times. What David was doing was interesting, but not enough time was spent on that. Towards the end, it looks like he brought along the original embroys, not his newer creations.
Only time will tell. I was a little disappointed Elizabeth Shaw was not alive in the beginning of the movie. I thought this would explain & show us more about the humans creators. To me this was the biggest disappointment.
Who are they, where did they come from, what is there society & social structure like, how do they comminicate, what are their other weapons? There will definitely be another movie, hopefully not 5 years later.
