Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Prism P — 20 May 2017
You ever have a feeling you're sitting through a 2 hour movie only as a build-up for the sequel? That's this film. We end up on an alien environment similar to ours. I understand the environment is alien, however I did not know that aliens can be born within a human host without the use of a symbiote. This is part of the film I was thrown off by and it happened very early. It made it difficult for me to get back into.
I also found the portion of the story where they come against the architects, the nefilim type giants, very disappointing. I would hope that they would have interacted in a completely different way. Perhaps that will culminate in the sequel. We will need a massive sequel that brings all of the story telling together to make up for this episode in the saga.
I feel that the writing should deserve a 3.5, it was very Well-written with plot twists that I found interesting. It was filmed very well-and in high quality. But computer-graphics have taken over as to where I am more familiar with the alien appearing audio animatronic. This actually makes it more life like to me.
