Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by S Y — 19 Sep 2017
This film was so bad it actually made me angry as I watched it. There was so little character development for all but about 3 characters that when anyone died, I questioned aloud "Who the hell was that?" There were several poorly executed green screen and CGI effects. The plot was incohesive. The rules about the alien life cycle were completely different from all previous films of the franchise and carelessly.
Explained away by the laziest of plot points. The twist endng was as predictable as the choice of heroine for each of the Alien films. Perhaps most frustratingly, it features an android who's gone mad (say what?) yet can cut his own hair with absolute precision and change its color seemingly like magic.
I feel lime I should watch the first two films of this series to remember why I once loved it, and to wipe out the painful memories of the rest.
