Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Ray C — 01 Dec 2017
Stilted script / speaking.
Hokey lines. As everyone knows, there are no original thinkers in Hollywood. However, why do all the remakes only make caricatures of the original and just throw in lots more cursing and vulgarity. ( (On the flight down to the planet, the conversation is all about the pilots "tits."). Just one of the horrible lines on the planet surface is "Looks like a good place for a log cabin.".
Character Walker does An obvious and very awkward mimicking of Spock. Sam Waterston's daughter is mediocre at best.
Also, whoever thought that John Denver's Take Me Home County Roads, would be good music for this movie should be sent to bed with no supper. It only adds to the ridiculousness. Wooden and unbelievable characters abound here.
Oh yeah. The "big innovation" in this movie--it comes out of his back instead of his chest.
