Review of Alien: Covenant (2017) by Armando P — 25 May 2017

As a long time fan of the Alien franchise, I've seen it go from stellar to meh to wtf. With the Ridley Scott sort-of reboot Prometheus, I had doubts that the magic of the first couple of films will be recaptured. Covenant brings back the magic in a way that is not just a rehash but had many of the elements that made Alien and Aliens such cult classics. Some of the pacing towards the beginning and before the climax was a bit slow for my tastes but the big revelation of the origin of the titular Xenomorph blew my mind. I look forward to owning this on blu-ray and having many discussions with my fellow Alien fans about where this takes the story...

Oh, but I think everybody saw that final little twist coming from 100 miles away ??
