Review of Alien Apocalypse (2005) by Christopher B — 01 May 2008
Such a dissappointment even for a B movie. The front of the case describes this film as Starship Troopers meets Army of Darkness. The plot is about alien termites that come down and colonize Earth and put humans to work in lumber yards.
Bruce Campbell lands on Earth after being out in space for 40 years, grabs a gun and shouts, "Freedom!" Little to no action, little to no gore. The cheese factor is high and the acting is just as terrible as you'd want it to be to make the film hilarious-unfortunately none of it amounts to anything because the movie just doesn't deliver on the action front.
I will say, that for all of its negatives, the old senator in a suit and tie wielding a sword to fight off an alien horde was awesome. The rest of the film, not so much.
