Review of Alien Apocalypse (2005) by Brian F — 09 Mar 2009
Such a weirdly terrible movie it is very hard to tell how and why it was made. Could it possibly be an experiment in bad film making? Everything about this movie is bad and wrong as if a talented filmmaker went out of their way to create something beyond awful. Alien Apocalypse is hilarious in it's atrocity but the tone insists that the audience take it seriously despite what is being presented on the screen. The cheese and tongue in cheek action is stopped dead when a woman is raped in the middle of the film. This moment is so incongruous it seems possible that the director realized the movie was veering into so-bad-it's-funny-territory and wanted the title of worst movie ever.
It may be the worst movie ever but that doesn't stop it from being hilarious. There are funny lines, "What's TV?" "None of your damn business!". But I found myself just laughing and shaking my head at the whole canvas.
