Review of Alien (1979) by Shake Z — 12 Mar 2013
Spectacular. That alone pretty much sums up Alien. The writing is excellent, the acting is excellent, the sets and the special effects were phenomenal for 1979, and characters are very well developed and vivid.
Alien has a story that will keep your eyes glued to the screen, and the way that Ridley Scott builds the suspense will frighten you as well. Sigourney Weaver was one of the most powerful characters I have ever seen in a science fiction movie.
Overall, this is one of my favorite movies of all time and I would recommend that you see it, even if you're not a fan of science fiction or horror.
