Review of Alien (1979) by Vivienne G — 25 Jun 2014
Truly horrifying scifi with a very subtle political message (foreshadowing today) about the equally horrifying amorality of corporatism. The scifi aspects have aged well; the tech special effects not so well, and the horror special effects least well.
Nevertheless, it's essential scifi viewing and was the first and one of the best of the modern horror scifi genre. Plus all that wonderfully terrible H. R. Giger design!
