Review of Alien (1979) by Srw2K14 — 09 Mar 2016
A phenomenal display of visuals and production design. Alien has a powerful effect on the senses with immense claustrophobia. The atmosphere is established brilliantly and the special effects are out of this world. The music also helps create an eerie sense which just adds to everything that's awesome about this movie.
The characters are relatable and likable but Sigourney Weaver stole the show. Her strong performance of Ellen Ripley surprised everyone and proved that a female character could be just as awesome as all the Han Solo’s and Captain Kirk’s. Alien to me is the perfect display of what a movie should be. It’s beyond great.
