This is Ridley Scott's masterpiece. Given a spare and sleek screenplay to work with, his masterful attention to production design doesn't overwhelm the plot or the characters here. You really get the sense that these folks are people doing a job in a work environment, which somehow makes the invasion of horror into the environment scarier.

Terrifying irrationality enters an area defined by rationality. A massively influential film that has influenced thew look of science fiction films to this day.
