Review of Alice's Restaurant (1969) by Steve C — 07 Mar 2008
A nice film, which is based to some degree on real events, which is why the overall plot is sometimes a little vague. Does it really matter as life doesn't have that much of plot. Every time I've watched this film I've noticed something more, it's got so many layers.
Just couldn't stop laughing at the completely unexpected reason Arlo ends up on bench W, and therefore beats the system. His reactions to the others there says a lot about first impressions.
There's also a very strong, but often missed sub-plot which asks, just what does Alice really want?
