Review of Alice in Wonderland (1951) by I Don't Know W — 02 Aug 2011
One of Disney's weirder movies, Alice in Wonderland is considered somewhat of a Disey classic. It's a nice take on the original tale which I admit I haven't read. It is truly bizarre but I guess that's the point as we're suppposed to be just as confused as Alice is.
The characters are all wonderful. You feel sorry for Alice and want her to get home. The Red Queen is a great villian and a powerful female to be reckoned with. Her husband the King and how powerless he is particularly amusing.
Alice in Wonderland does a good job of being charming, funny yet still featuring some dark moments. Alice in Wonderland is a great kid's movie with plenty of surrel moments.
