Review of Alice in Wonderland (1951) by Colin L — 23 Apr 2014
While the visual styles are sight to see, the characters, including Alice herself, are colorful and memorable by all their unique personas, the major issue that is seen to me with this film is that there isn't much to gain from the story.
It does function as a road-trip kind of adventure for the whole family, added in with some dark humor now-and-then, but there isn't much to receive as a message outside of the experience one can have from watching this acid-trip for kids.
My mood with the film has changed over the years, though I appreciate this superior take on the Lewis Carroll novel than the Tim Burton attempt.
