Review of Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974) by Derrick D — 10 Mar 2009

Ellen Burstyn shines in this movie and her interaction with her kid is excellent, but I couldn't help noticing that all the guys in this movie are pricks and in the end, she ends up with... a prick, granted not on the level of Keitel or Donald, but still, found that to be a interesting resolution for the movie.

Is it trying to say that no matter how independent Alice wants to be, she's going to end up with the same kind of jackholes to fill her lonliness and fear? I still don't know how to view this movie.
